The Suriname Awareness Symposium 2025 a strategic event focused on shaping Suriname’s future through the development of its energy sector. It brings together key stakeholders to drive dialogue on local economic development, stakeholder collaboration, and economic diversification.
Mission:
To foster collaboration that sparks innovation and shared value, driving inclusive economic growth and diversification through Suriname’s energy industry.
Objectives:
1. Promote open dialogue among stakeholders and communities on energy sector opportunities and challenges.
2. Highlight local content and economic development, emphasizing workforce growth, supplier engagement, and in-country value.
3. Encourage alignment between government, private sector, and communities for sustainable, inclusive growth.
4. Support economic diversification to reduce dependence on a single sector.
5. Inspire innovative solutions that empower local communities and enhance sustainability.
6. Offer capacity-building Master Classes led by global experts to build local knowledge and skills.
The symposium is a platform for awareness, action, and strategic collaboration to shape a resilient and inclusive energy future for Suriname.

Building on the legacy of the Suriname Awareness Symposium (SAS), Caribbean Energy Week (CEW) represents the evolution of our vision—expanding from a national platform to a truly Caribbean forum for energy cooperation and beyond. A platform for dialogue and action, scheduled for next year under the theme:
"Leveraging Energy Diversity Across the Caribbean"
In partnership with the African Energy Chamber, Afreximbank, Energy Capital & Power and S&P Global, supported by the government of Suriname, CEW will unite leaders from government, energy sector, and development institutions across the Caribbean, Africa, and other regions.
